- I have a friend that loved to Lawrenceville, it's about 20 minutes from Atlanta. He & his family LOVE IT! He thinks the quality of education in primary school is not as good as the East coast schools. However, he loves where they live. They live in a development of say 15-20 homes, in the development is a pool, bb court, community center, ect. So each community is close knit. Great for children. It's very expensive to live in Atlanta & Buckhead. I wish I had more info for you. Vist first, I usually go to Atlanta each year to visit. I like downtown Atlanta, Buckhead those areas where the shopping & entertainment is. But of course that's not where you want to love.
- I live in Atlanta and love it!! I live in the city of Decatur which is great and has a lot of cute little shops and is close to Midtown Atlanta. I used to live in Marietta, a suburb about 10 minutes up I-75 North, and it was horrible, very dirty and a lot of crime. Places I wouldn't advise you to move to: East Point, College Park,Buckhead,Marietta,Dunwoody. The more north of the perimeter you go, the nicer the neighborhoods, but more expensive. Anything south of the perimeter, I would stay away from. I work in Sandy Springs and it seems to be a very family oriented area, and very clean. The worst part about Atlanta is the traffic; no matter where you live or what time of day, there is always going to be a problem with traffic.
- I relocated from Chicago to Atlanta over 10 years ago. I was so overjoyed w/ everything the area has to offer that I started selling Real Estate. To date moving here to raise my children has been one of best decisions I've ever made. As far as which area is the "best." Each county has it's on diverse flavor and believe me we're growing EVERYWHERE! I specialize in Gwinnett, DeKalb, Fulton (although fast paced and some parts are expensive), Netwon & Rockdale. If you'd like info on a specific area & want to know about schools and neighborhoods email me at katherinebritt@yahoo.com or visit my website www.teambasden.com. I've been assisting relos for a while and it's always a pleasure.
- At this time your best bet is a place Like Suwanee, GA, or a little further north Sugar Hill, near enough to highway for commute, clean area, and close to the Lake Lanier recreational area.
- Polk County is another up and coming area to the west of ATL that offers some good prices on housing and quiet living. Rockmart, Cedartown...they are all a good place to buy property right now.
- We're full, please stay put.
- I would advise the Cobb County area East or North west Cobb Kennesaw Acworth some parts of Marietta they have very high ratings for education very nice subdivisions clean safe feeling like home 20-25 minutes form Downtown Atlanta...stay away from the Decautur area and some parts of Stone Mountain it has really HIGH crime rates....
