best places to live

What are your top five places to visit in Texas?

My wife and I frequently travel to TX to visit my family. They live in the Houston area. Next time we go there, I'm going to travel to Dallas and do one huge JFK assassination pilgrimage. Going to TX has become something I really enjoy. Here are my five, from bottom to top: 5. Texas state Capitol - Austin 4. San Jacinto Monument/Battleship TX - LaPorte 3. Galveston Beach - Galveston County 2. The Alamo - San Antonio (hint - go late at night when the most of the tourist traps are closed - the lights on the shrine reflect the bullet holes. You can really feel that an intense battle took place) 1. Fredericksburg - Very interesting WWII museum, birth place of Admiral Chester Nimitz, lots of good German restaurants and beautiful antique shops. Small quaint town (another hint - if you stay in Fredericksburg, stay at the Best Western. It's a few blocks off the main drag, but a wonderful hotel. It's the best one my wife and I have stayed in of all BW's). What say you all
