Which city in America is the best place to live? Why?

Me and my wife are bored here in Austin, Texas because there is hardly anything to do. We are both not into sports and we both graduated from college so we are not into college anymore. We both like movies, we're not into music that much but here is the music capital. In career sense, this is probably the worst place to have a career since pay is cheap and things are very expensive. The bus system is terrible because it is slow and ineffecient and everybody pretty much drives everywhere. The only reason we are here is because of our family being close but my question is where is the best city in America to live in? We like to do things in our spare time, be able to take public transit a lot since gas is close to $4, have a great career, and things need to be very affordable. Where do you think the best city in Ameria is and why?

1. I suggest Minneapolis or St.Louis.
2. Los Angeles!! I know you're thinking... it's expensive to live in a big city like Los Angeles but you can live outside the city and pay a lot less, take the bus or the metro anywhere and when you get bored you can find plenty of things to do!! I live about 20 mins away from "Hollywood" in a good area, really calm and relaxing.... anytime I need excitement... I just travel my 20 mins and I've got it! Plus, you can't beat the weather! :) Good luck!
3. I was going to say Phoenix, but they don't have any public transit to speak of.
