best places to live

Name the most beautiful places to see in Colorado?

between the eastern border and Buena Vista. This time I want to see all the breathtaking places instead of just driving through but I don't know where to go. Help...thanks.

  1. Garden of the Gods in CO Springs, anyplace in the Rockies and my uncle's house. :)
  2. Aspen
  3. Colorado is a beautiful state just driving on the main hwy is pretty. check out this sight I think it will help you.
  4. Until you get to the Rockies, there is not much to see. It also depends on what road you are traveling. There are a lot of places to see on your way to Buena Vista. If you are just looking to see the sights on the drive, I think you are set. But if you want to get out and enjoy the scenery I would figure a path that took you north to Rocky Mountain State Park and then work your way south, staying in the mountains. From RMSP, take 34 down through Granby. Get on 40 and go through Empire. Take I-70 west to Silverthorne, then take highway 9 south, through Breckenridge, Blue River, and Alma. in Fairplay, get on 285 south and take that to Buena Vista.
  5. I think my favorite is Garden of The Gods in Colorado Springs. My other favorite is driving up Pike's Peak, on your way up definately stop to take some pictures from the Crystal Lake Reservoir.
  6. Garden of the Gods drive to top of Pikes Peak Wilkerson Pass is cool Drive route 50 through canyons Check out Hanging Lake just East of Gunnerson. Take long way around Eisenhower tunnel over Loveland Pass. Check out Black Canyon Check out Canjon City. Drive through Mountains from Manitou Springs to Cripple Creek, ( stop for a drink at "Wistle Stop "), then drive to Victor Co. ( old mining town) Idaho Springs has Hotsprings. Check out 11 mile canyon check out Evergreen CO. Check out South Park Co. ( yes there really is one ) these places are spread out up & down the State so pick the ones you will be passing anyway. If you are into shopping for unique items, Native American art & jewlery at a fair price, check out Manitou Springs.
  7. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Maroon Bells near Aspen. I think they are the most breathtaking mountain peaks in Colorado especially in the fall when the aspen trees in the area turn gold. I heard yesterday on TV that the aspen trees there are starting to turn so if you want to see beautiful scenery, that's the place to go.
