Why do people of the midwest move to places like Florida?
I've heard stories and seen pictures of how great life is in places like Utah, Montana ans all those open places. Why leave?

- To get out of the cold weather.
- because they have grown tired of tornadoes, they are ready for the big league. hurricanes, bring it on!
- Are you kidding me? I live in Ohio and if it weren't for my friends and family I would sooo live in Miami! I have a sister who lives there and she'd let me move in with her in a second!
- I'm not moving to Florida or anywhere else for that matter. I don't know anyone who has moved to Florida. I love the four seasons. Snow is awesome.
- to get away form all the people moving there from california!
- Read my thermometer.
- Canada is also beautiful...& downright FREEZING in the winter. We don't plan to move to Florida...only to visit there a lot when we retire. :)
- For the warm weather I guess. I like Florida, but the changing seasons are more fun, especially in September. For some reason September is exciting as people are back from vacations and it just seems life is starting all over again.
- Shoveling snow is hard work. It really sucks. I also hate driving on ice and snow packed roads. Have you ever been stuck in your house because of a snow storm and have the power go out in below zero conditions. Let me tell you...it sucks. At least in the house I grew up in we had two fireplaces. It also was not fun to go digging in the snow to find wood for the fireplace either. I also had to walk to elementary school which was a mile away because my mom and dad had to go to work before 7am. Try doing that in blistery cold weather. I also think that winter is too long. If I lived somewhere where the winter was only a few months long I would be happy. I am tired of the cold weather after Christmas. I do not know where I will move but it will definitely be somewhere that is warmer than Illinois.
- Florida is relatively cool in the summer and relatively warm in the winter. Its the best of both worlds and of course there are beaches and of course no state income taxes.
- So our votes for President won't count.
