Gentlemen would you have liked to live 100 years ago?

It was a time before women got out of control and knew their place.

10. My great granddad used to tell me about such times and how wonderful things were. Perhaps the good days will one day return.

14. Women still know their place in many countries like Japan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, etc. I would not like to live 100 years ago for an entirely different reason, though. The life for most people 100 years ago was much more unhealthy and difficult. Life expectancy was lower. Few people had cars, phones, radios, etc.

16. I don't think I would have liked a wife who was permanently pregnant. 100 years ago women were chaining themselves to the railings, you have to go back a lot further if you want full enslavement. Frankly I much prefer an educated outgoing lady. I do think women's rights, which exceed mens have got out of control. However it should be pointed out that it is men that have been passing the laws that have created any inequities. There are still plenty of submissive women if you want one, but they have far more choice over who they marry. I wonder if the problem is that they do not wish to choose you.
17. NO, But what we should do is bring the past up to date and regain control of the female species. Strip them of their right to vote, bra's (whoever invented the bra should be hung, drawn and slaughtered) They should be forced to wear knee length furry boots with hipster miniskirts and pink tee-shirts. Apart from that, I'm quite happy with them...:-)

I believe you asked this question before... you haven't writen it any better this time! you're mixing subordinate clauses in the second sentence - suggesting that 100 years ago was a time before women knew their place! 100 years ago, I doubt very much that you would have been considered a Gentlemen (unless, of course, you have independant means). 100 years ago, most men also were expected to 'know their place'.
