Whats the best and closest beach city to Orlando Florida?

I'll be having a quick vacation in Orlando and I'm hoping to do some sun bathing. Looking for a nice beach city thats proximate to Orlando, FL. I'm willing to drive 2 to 3 hrs for a nice beach city. I was hoping for Miami but I don't have the luxury of time.

2. Cocoa Beach is nice, but if you drive east you will hit a beach. Daytona is a lovely area, you can take Interstate 4 across the state to get there. From Orlando you can be on the Atlantic Side in 1 to 1/2 hours depending on where you want to go, or you can go west and see the Gulf of Mexico, which is also very nice. I'm on the east coast, so I'm not real knowledgeable about the west coast, but I have been there and found it nice. I would get myself a map, a car and just go. 3. If you're staying in Orlando, then you'll probably want to head east towards Cocoa Beach. It's easy to get there. You just have to get on state road 528 (The Beach Line) and head east until it drops you off in Cocoa Beach. Another option is to head north on 95 to Titusville, because they have a nice state park with some great beaches. Have fun!
4. A great beach that is nearby (its known as Orlando's closest beach) is Cocoa Beach. You'll find it is only about a 45 minute -1 hr drive from Orlando, out by Kennedy Space Center. My favorite beach is a bit further, but well worth the drive. Visit Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida. It is approximately an hour and 15 minute drive south from Orlando.
