best places to live

Best place in North Carolina to live?

I am thinking about moving to North Carolina and was was wonder which town is the best. I don't want to live too close to the ocean, I would rather be near the mountains. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  1. Asheville is near the mountains and it's a great little city.
  2. Asheville. Beautiful place and booming economy, but still has all of the charm.
  3. well i lived near the ocean in Havelock and it was awesome! thats what i was going to suggest but...good luck with the mountain area!
  4. Asheville is great if you want to live near the mountains. But remember North Carolina is 560 miles long, so you have a lot of choices not living too close to the ocean. Live in the middle and you can go to the mountains and the ocean with no problem.
  5. Franklin. It is about half an hour in ou of Georgia, has a large suburban area, with all the houses in the mountains, and here my grandparents lived, 5 minutes away from the major highway. It is about an hour from ashville, and an hour and a half from Pigeon Forge, Tenessee. Ask if you need more info, it really is a beautiful place.
  6. Lake Norman is really nice. The city of Cornelius, Huntersville, or Morresville. You are 1 1/2 hours to the mountians and 4 hours to the coast. You are also 30 minutes to Charlotte. Asheville is nice to visit but it is a retirement community and expensive.
  7. Ashville, is the best choice for mountain scenery. Two other places i suggest are Raleigh, and Charlotte (even though Charlotte is not anywhere close to some mountains). Any place is better than Jacksonville.
  8. don't ever go to statesville it's full of podpeople and crackheads not to mention boring as hell i was stuck there for a year and almost wanted to kill myself. it's on the westside of N.C. DON'T EVER GO THERE
  9. ashville
