best places to live

What City in the entire planet would you consider the best to live in?

I'm preparing for retirement within 12 years and I'd like to find someplace on this planet to call home. Where would you consider a good place to live and why?

  1. i would say vancouver canada
  2. Wherever your love lives is your home. No city would be good if you were alone, so stick near family and loved ones.
  3. Mogadishu.
  4. The Swiss cities of Geneva and Zurich. In 2005, Mercer Consulting released a report that states these two cities, both in Switzerland, offer the best quality of life.
  5. yes, vancouver is great but too rainy. I would say Monte Carlo and Zurich .... my final answer is Monte Carlo.
  6. I'm fairly well traveled, having spent a number of years in the military. Having been to a number of different cities in my wandering, I have come to the conclusion that where you are at the moment is the best place to be. (Or you would not be there!) I do have a favorite place, but I could only afford to live there when I was in the service. It was the town of "Jolon", in California. The nearest "city" was King City, about 20 minutes time down the Jolon grade. I would not live there now unless I won the lottery since they have no industrial base. But that's what made it a nice place. Very quite and laid back.
  7. vancover ca and maastrict nl. i personally like having the freedoms of both countries. some of the nicest most helpful people ive ever met live in holland. ive lived in 3 countries n been all over the states. those are the 2 places im considering retiring in. good luck!
  8. I will say U.S.A. because it is very clean.
  9. I, being already 67 yrs. have not traveld extensivly , but there are two provinces I liked best, B.C. & PEI. I lived in Grand Forks,B.C. for 13 years and had all intentiens to stay, but needed to have assistance with my failing husband, so moved to my son in Alberta. Shopping is great and is near the seaidential area, has a great Hospital and a couple lady Drs. Christina Lake is great for a day at the beach, only 25 min away. If you are a gardener, you can grow most things in abundance, like the Okanogan. Fish ponds are popular there and can be used for Organic Gardening, which is also popular practice. Farmers Market by the Community College is your contacts with other gardeners. They are very helpfull to all newcomers.
