best places to live

How do med school students afford to live in cities? Help please!?

Do the universities give you housing as part of your tuition, or do you have to find and pay for your own housing? If the latter is there any kind of loan you can get to be able to afford a place? I want to go to Columbia med school but I'm worried about the cost of living in New York. Thanks!

  3. Most medical students either reside in University housing, which you have to pay for, but it's cheaper than other accomodations in the vicinity, or they find roommates to share an apartment. Check the housing section on the medical school website. Also, most university websites will give you a breakdown of yearly living expenses for the area As a medical student, you will have no trouble getting a loan for as much as you need to complete your degree.
