  1. no
  2. Did you check out the currency exchange rate?
  3. Manila is cheap but not that cheap. I just cam back from the PH and 1000 USD is probably the cheapest you can get. That would include a home, driver and food. If you really want to get fancy you could up the amount to 1500.
  4. Not At All...
  5. I'd say around 450- 550 dollars a week. Outside of the city is a little cheaper. The prices indicated are not for the place you stated though.
  6. yes if u live w/ ur parents
  7. No Just for a nice condo it will cost you about 700USD per month just for the rent. You will need to include electricity and different fees associated with a condo. Expect to pay a little over 1,000USD per month just to have a place to stay. A driver and a maid will cost more depending on how much you use thier services. If you budget 1,500USD / month for the things you listed I do not think you will have any problem so long as you don't travel alot or go far when you do travel.
  8. Yes ..... You can live in a nice comfy place called Streets.
  9. I live in a place w about 180m2 - that is about what my electric bill is.
  10. 100 dollars in a month? & that kind of living?! You must be kidding. Anyways, at least you'll have 1,000 dollars a month. But it depends on how you want to live very comfy or just moderate in Manila. (- -,)
  11. golden acres but again you have to be at a certain age to stay in that place.
  12. Absolutely no, !00 dollars is equivalent only to 4900 pesos or less. Just for the rent for a little decent house you have to shell out 7000 pesos already! So how about the food and the other expenses? Makeit 500 dollars so you can have a decent living.
  13. Prices in Philippines are skyrocketing, especially for housing for foreigners. Not to mention the USD/PHP exchange rate has fallen by about 10 pesos in the past 2 years. Its a really fun place but they are going to ruin a good thing with the greedy attitude. You'll need about $1000 a month minimum to live there bare bones.
  14. it's not enough. a $100 would give you an apartment somewhere along the not so good neighborhood. that does not include city services, so you need more than that. and with maids and a driver--really need much much more.
  15. it will be hard for you to live comfortably for $100. that is around 4500-5000 philippine peso depends on the current exchange. the average single filipino need about 300 pesos (around 6 dollars)a day to survive that includes food, transpo, electricity, etc that is associated with living but that is not comfortable. but i depends on your standards of comfortablility. living outside manila with a benjamin in your pocket may provide just a little comfort but it will not sustain you.
  16. Of course you can!!! But you have to sort up one problem first, i.e., bring back the time to 1924.
  17. Sure! provided you live in a sty and eat bird food!
  18. Dear Diamond, that's less than what I would have to pay for a small room without a bathroom and air conditioning. And you're talking about having at least two household help here. C'mon, did you really think you can find a place anywhere in the world that is that cheap? Check out Malaysia, I read on Yahoo that it's the cheapest place to live in.
  19. 100 a month...no, its not quite enough, especially in Manila. However, to anyone who says 1000 a month I say they are full of it. I lived in Boston, MA for the summer off of about $650 a month by subletting a room in a nice apartment and taking the subway rather than paying for a car and I just lived very moderately. Boston is rather expensive living in the US, but if you know how to manage money you can live basically wherever you want for a good price. With that being said, I bet you could get by in Manila with as little as $300 a month. If you are looking for a driver, maid, and luxurious living you're out of your mind at that price. Even though there is an exchange rate advantage, the Philippines is not a soup kitchen...this stuff isn't for free.
