If i was to take a job in lakeland florida, what cities around lakeland would be the best to live?

My boyfriend could be transfered down to Lakeland next year, and ive been wanting to move to Florida for a while now but i hear Lakeland isnt the best place to live, so i'm wondering what would be a better place to live without a long commute to lakeland?

1. Dvaenport or Haines City.... Lakeland is sorta hit or miss as to nice or not.... Decide if you want to be closer to Tampa or Orlando.... then move east or west along I-4 accordingly. If you dont want to be closer to either.... check out Winter Haven.... the newer areas are nice.
2. Do NOT move to Haines City. I have no idea where that dude was from. South Lakeland is very pretty and upscale. Lakeland is a great place to live.
