- hi amy which university ? if its the landsdown one you want to go boscombe way, if you want to go the other way west cliff / westbourne area
- sorry to say the only good thing about Bournemouth is the road back to London.
- Can't speak for the prices because they vary a lot, even street to street (sea views, proximity to main roads etc.) Have a really good look at Boscombe. It's got a pier, great walk either along the beach or overcliff drive to Bournemouth. Doesn't suffer from masses of tourists crowding you out in summer and is in easy reach of the New Forest if you want to visit. The walk to Hengistbury Head is also superb and really good when you're feeling miserable. Trains (from Pokesdown) are along the Southampton-Weymouth line. Check a map to see the places it passes through. Boscombe high street is a proper high street. Mostly pedestianised now, you'll find lots of non-chain shops as well as the Usual Ones. For more details of places in the area have a look at UpMyStreet .com.
- Your asking a lot for that money, (not being snobby, just realistic) Your best bet is to get somewhere in boscombe for all that. Get there soon though because the areas near the beach are really going to rocket in price as soon as the reef is put in place, its already started. Charminster's where its at! just not a walk to the beach but a cycle or quick bus.
