Obama Addresses UNITY as Convention Draws to a Close Sunday, July 27, 2008 By Gerrick Lewis The UNITY News Online Sen. Barack Obama addressed thousands of journalists at a live forum on the final day of the UNITY convention in his first appearance since returning to the U.S. after a spending a week overseas. The senator was greeted with a standing ovation when he walked onto the stage. He addressed issues such as immigration, the economy and race and gave a recap of his trip. “When you think about the big problems we face at home, they are connected to the problems abroad,” Obama said. Hundreds of empty seats in the back of the Skyline Ballroom at the McCormick Place convention center were noticeable as CNN broadcasted the event. Many attendees had already departed the convention by the time Obama spoke. If people not using spell check gets you upset, maybe you should avoid the internet

Public Comments

  1. no but I can tell u I am tired of ppl not using the spell check that is provided for free!
  2. Not as much as Im getting tired of ignorant posts
  3. Yes. They are called Republicans. Bitter, party of one!
  4. yes, he has long time used up his 15 mutes of fame..now he goes away in 100 days..President McCain
  5. maybe
  6. I sure the he!! am
  7. No, no one is tired of Obama except Republicans who know they are going to lose the election like Dole lost to Clinton.
  8. nope..actually i think this is just the start what i am tired of is the same old politics of LIES and trying to justify there actions (which are wrong)
  9. Maybe they are just realizing how empty his rhetoric is. I think his color is RED
  10. nope
  11. I am
  12. I don't think people are tired of him. I'm rooting for McCain but I have this feeling Obama will win.
  13. I noticed that too, it started with the poor turn out in Germany.
  14. No why should they he is a gifted speaker!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Yes. If I get tired of listening to his long drawn out speeches, UM, then, so will UM, millions of Americans.
  16. No!! Not at all.. He keeps changing positions in accordance with campaign Motto. It's interesting and not bored..even Europians and foreigners who sometime do not understand english.. You must be kidding!! Actor Obama will never let you tired... Only after Election, you become tired for 4 more years!!!
  17. Not at all. We are tired of McBush pandering to lobbyists, lying to Americans, and wanting to continue this war in Iraq that cost us billions each month.
  18. Nah, they're just finally beginning to see Barak Husein Obama's true colors. How he's an ignorant newbie who is completely incompetent in handling our country, but charms America with a smile, and promising change, and being able to twist around questions so he never has to actually answer people's questions.
  19. He's got the same problem as Britney Spears. There comes a point at which everybody gets tired of hearing the same old sh*t. He could wear out the media by Nov.
  20. Obama is full of hot air. I personally went and turned the channel when the Rev Wrong scandal broke. I love how the bobblehead Obama supporters claim he is a new type of politician. Since when is pandering to the specific audience you are current speaking to, is to be considered anything new to a sleazebag politician?? Obama is a fraud and the people will make sure he will lose in November.
  21. Not at all, he's the best thing to ever happen to our country.
  22. So if the event was mainly for journalist, why would you expect them for fill it up past the thousands of seats available in the first place? Seriously, you honestly think John McCain could fill those seats? John McCain has to constantly downsize the meeting places he holds his visits on so they don't remain pathetically empty. He has never been able to attract the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands that Obama consistantly has. The non-stop wall-to-wall coverage of the campaign for forever and a day is what alot of people are getting tired of, regardless of who the actual candidates happen to be. It just so happens that coverage is slanted more towards Obama because McCain is as exciting as watching paint dry.
  23. No. Just people who ask: Are people getting tired of Obama.
  24. Yo!!!
  25. yes
  26. I am tired of both obama and mcCain. they sail on the same boat.
  27. NOPE
  28. Yes I am tired of him.........just because you are a gifted speaker does not mean you are meant to lead the best country in the world during a very difficult time for us. Yes he is a Senator, but what proven track record does he have for leading a Nation? Giving him a vote is strictly based on what he is saying. He could have gone overseas before running for President to get accomplished what he is portraying right now as a candidate.
  29. Who is Obama?
  30. Silly boy! Didn't you know that the convention was for the supporters of obama who came over from the mccain side. these people usually go to bed early and wake up at 5am. they also have difficulty seeing in the dark and hearing someone talk from far away. so the people in the back obviously thought obama never came, so they left, considering they couldn't see him or hear him this is a reasonable conclusion. damn Yahoo dictionary has McCain but not Obama. Hire some people of racial diversity besides just the irish.
  31. This is no indication of anyone being tired of Obama--first of all, journalists get invited to these press conferences---otherwise anyone who thinks he/she is a journalist could attend(such as the paparazzi). Secondly, journalists also have appointments. To attend the Obama speech is just one appointment and some appointments simply get prioritized. What I think is going on right now is that the world is taking a deep breath and waits and sees where the senator is headed....after all, the DNC convenes in Denver next month......so I think everyone has heard it all by now and is waiting to see what the outcome of the convention in August will be....
  32. No, but I am sick and tired of hearing McCain delusional claims and crying, "No one is paying attention to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!"
  33. I believe it is part of his plan. As we get nearer to the election, the questions get tougher and his BS is spreading thinner. The question will his BS be thin enough by election time to see the empty shell that speaks BS. i,e. * He said he was conceived 4 years after he was born. * He addressed an audience of fallen heroes * He said his uncle liberated Auschwitz. Fact the Russians liberated Auschwitz. See more here http://youtube.com/watch?v=ap2Cg_FDRy4 A graduate of Harvard? This does not speak well of their Ivy league status. Obama loves America like O.J. loves Nicole
  34. No. I think Obama-haters have an obsession with Obama. Barack still get bigger crowds than McCain can ever have. Did you say it was for journalists? You question doesn't make sense. Obama just spoke to over 20,000 poeple overseas!! ><
  35. Yessss y'all say he's a 'gifted speaker'? you got that right--'a great GAG GIFT'(I gag when I hear even a second of a speech:):)
