Are parties more likely to be busted in small cities or in large cities.?

I live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and parties here always get busted with even parties of adults getting busted for no reason. I was wandering if parties in Manhattan (near Columbia or NYU for example) were less likely to get busted? I wandered if the NYPD would be more concerned with serious crimes, due to the larger population of Manhattan?

  1. Small cities, in the larger cities they have "major" crimes to be concerned about & not a loud party.
  2. Well, with most police departments I have ever dealt with work just about the same. What causes a party to get busted is someone calling the cops and complaining about it. Your best bet is to have your party in an area where the noise, cars, and people all over the place won't bother anyone. If the area you want to have a party is loaded with old people, find a new place to party. Old people will call on young folks because kids make them nervous, and no other reason is needed for them. Not getting busted is about not getting the cops called. I don't buy into the "they only worry about more serious crimes" BS, because 98% of what cops do is based on an initial complaint called in to the PD. Traffic stops and officer initiated stuff is the most visible and what everybody sees, but it's just a small part of what cops do during the day. So, do some recon on the neighbors in the area. Hell, invite them to the party and maybe they won't call the cops! Or, go talk to them and let them know you will be having a party and that you will try to keep it down, but if it bothers them, give them a way to get ahold of you so they can ask you to tone it down. It keeps the cops out of it that way.
