- Civil War timeperiod stuff of course As an example -- Kennesaw Mountain battlefield and cemetery (Mariettta)
- There is alot of civil war stuff. You have Kennesaw Mountain and museum, you have the big battlefield near Chattanooga, the little white house near Calloway Gardens.
- Being in Alpharetta, you're not too far from Dalonagna, which is where the gold for the top of the dome of the GA State capital building was mined. From there it's a short ride to Amicalola Falls - the highest waterfall east of the Mississppi. Further east is Brasstown Bald, the highest point in the state of Georgia. Chickamagua would be a nice day trip to the Civil War battlefield, and well as the Etowah Indian Mounds in Cartersville, Kennesaw Mountain and the Kennesaw Civil War museum, the Confederate Cemetery in Marietta. For a longer trip...Savannah is FULL of history....the 1st planned city in the colonies....it was given to Lincoln as a Christmas by Sherman on his march to the sea. Have fun exploring!
