Where are the best places to live for a young adult?

I live in the bay area, I moved back to the area after the military and I dont like it. it is too expensive and I can't quite get away from old high school friends, whom are very bad influences. So I want to move outa state & ld like to do it by this time next year, maybe summer. I want to go to a four year college and work full time. I collect my GI bill, and I have a little saved with more money being saved So hopefully I can afford and little more by then. I was originally in the Sacramento area and loved it. I am looking to move out, due to the California prices I was looking at Scottsdale AZ or Phoenix area. Im allergic to cold so I need warm I don't like the cold, cute girls are a plus but not the main reason 4 the move. So where are some location ideas for a young adult to move and prosper. Let me know about your experiances or experiances from a friend. Plus I am motivated, and single!
