Best Place to Live & Raise Children As a Single Parent?

I currently live in NC and prefer not to relocate to Raleigh, NC which has been known as a great place to live. I want to go to Connt, Mich, or somewhere else. I need a place that has good jobs also.

  1. Go to this website and take the quiz - it will give you a list of best places tailored just for you. http://www.findyourspot.com/
  2. Research it on the web. Michigan has many small towns which are an excellant plaxce to raise children and soem are close enough to large cities to commute fast if you so wish. It's according to what your job is and the money you want or need to make. Many small towns are trying to attract people like doctors, nurses, teachers minoritys ect in what could be a great job and place to live.
  3. Honestly, the best place to raise children as a single parent is close to your family. Of course, if you have a good relationship with them, you share more or less the same life style and values and if you consider that they can be a positive influence in your kids. As I'm getting older I value more and more my extended family and all the memories.
  4. well i am a single parent too and i would look in job ads from different areas then i also called the local police dept for that area and asked them about their crime rate i was always afraid of gang violence and my boys being pulled into that i also got with the board of education and got rating for schools my children may go to i was like a private eye for myself cause what may meet my standards may not meet yours also i found if they had a boys and girls club in area help keep kids off streets also ask about after school programs investigate baby your all your children have give them the best you can good luck
  5. Wisconsin! Great place to live Not far from Chicago Not far from St. Paul Lots of jobs cost of living is low = about $500-$600 for a 2 bedroom apartment People are friendly. Doesn't include Milwaukee The Cities are not far apart Great outdoor activities Education is great
  6. MidWest.
  7. wow, im trying to relocate to the raleigh-durham area. whats wrong with it. anyways, if you want to stay down south, surrounding counties of atlanta, ga are pretty decent. gang of jobs, plus about 10 or 11 different colleges and universities if you decide to go back to school. the public school system is decent depending on the county (cobb county has great schools, clayton needs work, dekalb has good schools, and north atlanta schools are good). and atlanta is a nice city too. the opportunities are endless. north florida is pretty decent. the school system is pretty good from what ive been told and you should'nt have a problem with job hunting. i keep hearing good things about texas so you may want to look into that also. good luck
