2. Since you are on the East Coast you'd be much better off watching the sun rise. How about Jones Beach? If you truly want to see the sun set maybe the top of the Empire State Building, you won't see anything from Central Park.

6. top of the empire state builing the cloisters on the edge of the hudson. G. Washington Bridge but you get masked in many places from the high rise buildings. /Battery Park could also be a place to try and watch.
