  1. Read the Manuel and do it your self
  2. you can they only cost about 7 dollars
  3. The best place to find out how to do this is go on line to your local library and get linked onto the vehicle repair site. Once there find your vehicle make and type and start reading. The cost for the thermostat and antifreeze, gasket shouldn't be over twenty five to thirty dollars.
  4. do it yourself it is not that hard
  5. FOLLOW THE TOP RAD HOSE BACK TO THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING. THEY CAN BE DIFFICULT, PONTIAC TRANSPORT VAN IS ABOUT A 4 HOUR JOB. YOURS SHOULD BE EASY ENOUGH, JUST PULL THE HOUSING AND REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT.
  6. My girlfriend went to Washburn University in Topeka. The thermostat is one of the easiest parts to replace on any automobile. The cost for a thermostat should be $15 to $20 and it comes with a gasket. You will need to get some gasket compound as well to insure a good, solid fit. If you go to an auto parts store they will give you directions on where it is located and how to change. Important when you put the bolts back in, do not tighten too much. When you are done crank the car, turn the heater on, and insure you have no leaks. I am not a mechanic but have done this on many cars/trucks.
