best places to live

Where in Italy is the best place to live, for a year abroad?

I am a first-year student who goes to Warwick and I study French and Italian. My second year has to be spend abroad in an Italian university, as part of the Erasmus programme. Where would be the best place to live? Answers would be much appreciated x

  1. What kind of interests do you have? Art and architecture? Florence or Rome. Funky nightlife and fashion? Milan. The country is small enough where you can buy a train ticket and visit other places
  2. Florence is pretty awesome (It is my favorite) and centrally located and not as crazy as Rome.
  3. I would choose Florence. But that is largely because I met and traveled with people who had studied there, when I was in Europe. Still, even objectively, it's in the middle of Tuscany, which is a wonderful region, and it's the absolute epitome of art and there's tons of history. I'd find it most interesting.
  4. Milan or Rome, in my opinion. But Florence is pretty good, too. I'm Italian and I have seen all this city, my favourite is Milan.
