Where are some of the best places for New York style pizza in New York City?

  1. For whole pies, I'd say DiFara's and Lombardi's are good starting off points. Slices...a ton of good, local places around. Just go where the locals go (they know where to find the good stuff).
  2. Hi, It may not be in the core of Manhattan, but where I happen to live( The Bronx), there is a truly magical Pizzeria called 'Patricias', oh and a tip, when in The Big Apple, I highly highly suggest that you look for the more underground non-chain Pizzerias, they will be small and crowded, this is where the best Pizza is made, New York style, always always always go for the smaller and not so appealing ones, they are much cheaper and the way they make the pizza is the epitome of New York pizza, which in my opinion, is the only pizza. Best of luck, -Anon Ymous P.S- Just ask around, are there any nearby Pizzerias? And look for Italian titles such as a small place by my office, name 'Angelos', the most delicious pizza on the planet when looking for a quick lunch on a busy afternoon.
  3. Stromboli, off 14th Street on University place, near NYU.
  4. For sit down and whole pies: Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, Lombardi's in Soho, John's in the Village, and Patsy's in the Village near NYU. For quick slices: Joe's in the West Village, Majestic in the Financial District, and Famiglia's is pretty good for being a chain.
  5. I personally like Ray's Pizza. They're all over but I know there are a couple on 7th Avenue a couple blocks north of Times Square. My dad says there's too much cheese but there's really not, and it's really cheap. When I brought my exchange student there, she liked it a lot.
