What are some good cities for pedestrians in the US?

I'm thinking about relocating, and I really don't want to drive everywhere. What are some good US cities with decent downtown areas for pedestrians? I'm used to European style cities like London and Paris New York might be a little too expensive for me

2. Boston is a walkable city. So is Philadelphia (at least the decent parts). San Francisco also.
