What are some fun/sightseeing things/places to do/visit in North Carolina?

My family and I have lived here for almost seven years, and the only place we have gone is to the beach and to the Biltmore House. We are moving to another state in about six months and I would like to see as many things as I possibly can before we leave. Can anyone tell me some fun things to do or places to visit? Could you also include a link to the website if they have one?

1. Go to the National White Water Center, but wait until it warms up. It is way too cold for white water rafting.
2. Cherokee, NC We've been there a few times and the kids love it there. Maggie Valley, NC we went to The Ghost Town in the Sky and had so much fun! Wilmington, NC is a cute town lots to do with the beach right there.
