Best BIG city to live in?

When I am done with court reporting school, I am looking to move to a big city with lots of work. Going to be going into freelance depos. Would like somewhere fairly inexpensive, but again close to major cities with lots of work. Was thinking Cleveland or Houston. Already in ohio. Please no NY or CA
