best places to live

Is the cost of living in Orlando and Tampa Florida really expensive places to live?

I ask this question because yesterday i was reading online an article that listed the best places that many people were moving to and these two cities were on the list. I live in Detroit and there are hardly any jobs here at all and there is entirely TOO much senseless violence here. They call Detroit "Death City." The crime here is so bad that i have gotten to the point where i am afraid to leave the house now. I can't live someplace where i am in constant fear for my life.

  1. Come on down I think Orlando would have more opportunities for you. But when you move here dont complain about the traffic. Hundreds of people a day move to FL. WHy liv ein fear when you can live next to the happiest place on earth. see ya!
  2. My mom lives in Orlando and My father lives in Tampa && I go back and forth. anywho Orlando is more higher class and most everything is more expensive there. If you fit in between Middle and Low class income I would suggest you move to Tampa, FL (: There also have a lot of Activities and Shopping malls in Tampa
  3. i say florida is expensive but its alot better than detoit i can tell you that much
  4. I have lived in Florida my entire life. Mainly in Miami. We moved up to central florida 3 1/2 years ago. But we moved about 45minutes outside of Orlando. The crime is MUCH less. Jobs are still scarce due to the economy, but there are jobs. And if you live outside of the city the cost of living is MUCH cheaper. We have a 3bedroom 2bath home on 1full acre of land and we pay $800/month. So that's really not bad, especially compared to Miami. Where we live I am VERY happy and feel VERY safe. We have 2 small children (4years old & 4months old) and they (well, for now just my oldest, lol) can go outside and play and the only worry I have is maybe a bear or something. lol.
  5. orlando has the highest crime and murder rate has to do with all the ghetto ass people here and NO orlando is not expensive coming from new york its cheap as hell but i can do without the ghetto black and white and hispanic trash here.
  6. No, it's reasonable to live in Orlando and Tampa. Real estate prices are low and there is a big farmer's market on Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa where people buy produce very cheaply.
  7. I'd go to Tampa. Orlando is a tourist trap, so prices are high. That, and there just isn't that much to do unless you're into the whole Disney thing. I used to spring break in Tampa and I loved it. There's always something to do & they have great beaches at St. Pete's & Clearwater. If you are thinking of buying a home there check out Taylor Morrison. They sell homes there and have a free $25,000 sweepstakes on their web site.
