  1. I am SURE St. Luise is top 5. Detroit is bad too. I am sure you can google this information in 30 seconds.
  2. Here's the deal: 1. St. Louis does have a bit of crime and is probably on a list somewhere for some year of high crime. 2. It is a perfectly acceptable place to live.
  3. In my experience, cities that should make the top ten are Chicago Detroit Philadelphia Fint, MI (Yes, Flint Michigan) LA (if you exclude the uber rich areas) Never been to St. Louise, but I'm told certain areas can be pretty bad.
  4. Crime in Detroit has dropped so Detroit is not the most dnagerious city in the USA and more. so people leave detroit alone. New Orleans Camden, NJ Detroit St. Louis Oakland Flint, Mich. Gary, Ind. Birmingham, Ala. Richmond, Calif. North Charleston, SC
  5. Are there any cities with more than 10 people who don't have crime? St. Louis is frequently on the list, but there's no more crime here than anywhere else. According to our police chief the area considered to be St. Louis also includes towns in western Illinois that have a lot of crime. There are many excellent areas in the city of St. Louis, and most of St. Louis County is perfectly safe. In the city itself, some of the nice areas are St. Louis Hills, Central West End, Tower Grove, and many others. I don't know much about the northern county areas, but there's not a single place in South County where I wouldn't feel comfortable alone. St. Louis and St. Louis County are separate entities. St. Louis isn't part of any county, and they're kind of broke with a not too good school system. The county municipalities have their own districts, some of the better ones being Rockwood, Parkway, Lindberg and many more. There are several private high schools, secular, Catholic and Lutheran, too. St. Louis University and Washington University are on a par with most of the more prestigious schools in the country. Both have medical schools and renowned medical centers. SLU Hospital,Barnes Hospital (WU's hospital system), St. Anthony's, St. Luke's, and St. John's are all excellent. There's also a first class community college system where you can get everything from a liberal arts AA to a 2 year nursing degree. Webster University is one of the top fine arts schools, and the Theatre Conservatory is a launching pad for many successful professionals. There are several more private universities and UM in St. Louis too. I've lived in St. Louis most of my life, and when I was somewhere else (NYC for 12 years, Springfield MO and Sullivan IL) I was always ready to head back home.
