Where would be the best place in America to live in some woods?

Somewhere with decent soil, some form of fresh water, maybe a bit of game and somewhere that has somewhat decent weather year round. Where in Maine ?

1. Vermont...gets cold in winter though
2. Northern Arkansas. Mountains, lakes, rivers, lots of fish and game, good soil and mild winters. It does get hot in the summer. Lots of areas are not overly populated, which is always a good thing. Good luck.
3. I knew the perfect place until you said decent weather. Here in Maine there are thousands and thousands of acres of virtually uninhabited land. You could live there and live off the land and never see another person if you like, though there is the issue of Maine winters.
