Are there any places in Arizona with a lot of wildlife?
Going dogsitting for a couple weeks and starting a new job. I just noticed that my knuckles on my left hand are red. What do you think that means? What's up witchoo?

- i've heard there are beaver there but...ask avant garde... she lives in az... i've been to the grand canyon... i only saw chipmunks and burros... oh and i saw a deer in flagstaff once...
- I AM the wildlife of AZ...★
- Just south of avant grade I'm sure you could find some and she will be happy to offer directions or even your own personal barbie doll tour guide!
- You'll see elk and deer (both mule and whitetail) in the higher elevations. If you're lucky, you can also see wild turkey, skunk and maybe even a ringtail (our state mammal). There are also a couple of isolated areas with coatimundis, and they just tagged a jaguar near Tucson last week. In the deserts, you'll find a lot of coyotes, javelina and rabbits. You can sometimes find tarantulas (particularly during their mating season) and gila monsters. The desert around Tucson also has the grasshopper mouse, the only carnivorous mouse in the world. There are also bighorn sheep, cougars and black bears in the mountains, but you won't see them. In between the two, in the more grasslands at around 4000' (Prescott area especially), you'll find a lot of pronghorn antelope. I've also seen them around St John. Then, of course, there's the ubiquitous rattlesnake, which you'll find all over the state. Lots of birds, bats and interesting insects everywhere else. The best place to see things is either Highway 260 between Camp Verde Heber-Overgaard or US 191 between Alpine and Morenci. Highway 260 installed an experimental elk warning system a few years ago because they have so many accidents involving them, and I've seen elk everytime I've been on that highway at night. I've seen wild turkeys and deer everytime I've been on that stretch of US 191.
- You could just go to the Wildlife World Zoo in West Phoenix.
- Yeah! the Wildlife Zoo!
- It depends on what kind of wildlife you're looking for. I live in Fountain Hills and I've seen a lot of wildlife without leaving town. I've seen javelinas, coyotes, rattlesnakes, garter snakes, mice, ground squirrels, scorpions, tarantulas, bats, Harris hawks, vultures, quail, and doves right in my own neighborhood. I've also seen various kinds of ducks, coots, geese, egrets, and herons at the lake in the park.
- every where has lots of wild life in Arizona.it is ALL wild life............if you are in the city .......the people ARE the wild life!
