Best places to live in Texas?
My family and I are thinking about moving to Texas. My family consists of myself, my spouse, and a toddler. I am looking to relocate somewhere diverse, good schools, close by a university, low crime, (a nice latino/filipino population would be nice) and not too expensive. Any suggestions?

- Richardson, Texas.... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- Look into Austin... the state capital The University of Texas is located there It sits in the middle of the state and has easy access to all of the high spots within easy driving distance (Gulf of Mexico... hill country... the markets in Dallas... etc).... I think that you would really like it there... and, it has a great activities schedule for almost any age... Something going on there all the time !! ☼ ////
- for the Houston area: The Woodlands for the Dallas area: Plano both are very rich neighborhoods, but not everyone is rich in these neighborhoods. They have plenty of diversity! There are many schools throughout the D/FW Metroplex, while Sam Houston State, Rice, and the University of Houston are all within an hour of the Woodlands The Woodlands High School and The Woodlands College Park are full of rich neighborhoods, so you probably want to look for a home that would attend Oak Ridge. I am an OR alum and the people there are very nice and very helpful. I was only there for my senior year and I had the best time of my life. Everything is very convenient....all within 5 minutes. If it is not latino/filipino enough for you...try looking in Klein about 10-15 minutes south of The Woodlands. Klein Collins and Klein are full of latinos/filipinos. Oak Ridge has plenty of diversity though. I attended Klein Collins my freshman year and it was a great school with low crime rate then, but has since gotten a lot worse with cultures clashing. Lots of bad things have been happening there so I don't recommend it too much. Though anywhere south of Klein Collins and Klein, you're asking for trouble. Since Katrina, Houston crime rate has shot up skyhigh and it's getting more and more dangerous As for Plano, you can't really go wrong anywhere up there. My recommendation would be around the Plano West area, but Plano High School is a very good school too! Plano would probably be a perfect fit for you.
- The best suggestion I can give is do NOT move to Texas. good luck!
- I say Austin too! It has a diverse culture & is very close to U of TX & other colleges.
- Missouri City, Sugar Land, actually Fort Bend County in general...Fort Bend Independent School District is very good. Universities nearby in Houston, approx. 30-40 minutes to Downtown.
- I don't really like Texas, but my pick is Dallas. I kind of agree with Lisa though. Austin is kind of diverse. My real opinion is don't pick Texas.
- move just south of Houston to Pealand,Texas.
- NW Harris County. (Cy-fair/Cypress) We have one of the best school districts in the state (Rated Superior) And even though it is large, (100,000+ kids) It is still very good. More lations/filipinos live in the south area of this region, but everyone is unbiased and you dont have to worry about anything like discrimination. There is also Cy-Fair University close by. As well, there are plenty of developments and neighborhoods to move into, such as Bridgeland or Towne Lake. Look at the 290/Spring Cypress area.
- Houston, or Austin is a great place to live!
