best places to live

I want to move to Florida after I graduate from college. What are the best cities, near the beach to live?

I've been looking at St. Petersburg but I'm not really sure. I've only ever been to Orlando.

  1. anywhere in the keys!
  2. get down to miami if your looking to get laid there is plenty of tail down there
  3. That depends on your college major and your intended career. The job market in Florida (as everywhere) is down right now, particularly near the beaches. Orlando's job market has fared better than most. I'm in North Florida and it's very hard for my friends to find jobs in St Augustine after we all graduated from college here, and Jacksonville is only slightly better. I have a friend who moved to Tampa trying to find a job in Communications and ended up going back to school for nursing, as there were simply no jobs for her. She's working in retail as she goes to nursing school. There are many beautiful cities in Florida, just make sure there are jobs waiting for you.
  4. .....Tampa - St Pete area is good but I would head down toward Fort Myers and Sanibel area of the state.
  5. Sarasota and Floridas most beautiful beach siesta key. If your looking for quiet there's a little town on the gulf coast called englewood they have 3 beaches on manasota key not many tourists and no major hotels lining the beach its awesome
  6. Stay away from Fort Myers. It has a very high unemployment rate. Miami is very expensive. Orlando is nice, but you have to live right by where you work as the traffic is the worst in the state. St. Petersburg is a lovely, liveable city.
  7. Whats your major? The major employers here are Tech Data, HSN, Mercury Insurance, Franklin Templeton Investments, Jabil Circuit, Aegon, Raymond James Financial and of course nursing and healthcare, etc. St. Pete is a laid back, relaxing city. The best part about living in St. Pete are the beaches and it's close to all the major attractions. Have you been here before? You should schedule a visit before you decide to relocate. Check out potential employers and try to schedule interviews during your visit. Research, research, research! There is an excellent website to help you decide which cities are the best for you, it's www.findyourspot.com
