what it is the BEST place to live in america and WHY ? ?

i want to move out with my family to a place where - living is affordable, but not a low income / non safe / dangerous areas.. - a place where we can find jobs (we are all adults in this family) - close enough to a big enough city ... we don't like very small towns that are very far away from big cities - nice weather. not excessively cold, especially the cold we hate it ! help please :)

I live on Long Island, and it's pretty nice -it is pretty expensive, but if you have 2 saleries coming in, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. most areas are safe - you can find jobs - i dont think there are any "small towns," and even if there are, they're within 2 hours of NYC, and NYC is Long Island's direct neighbor, so depending on where you decide, you'll probably be 30-90 minutes from the city, believe me its not a problem. - we're surrounded by water, which keeps the summers cool and the winters warm. it usually doesn't drop under 0 ferenheit (only reaches around 5 degrees for a week or two then goes back up) and it doesn't go too high, usually only up to 90 i think... its good enough, and you do get a taste of cold and snow, and a taste of really hot, but both only last a week or two, and we handle it pretty well. hope i helped.
