best places to live

where are the best places in Florida & Georgia to grow plants?

I'm planning to move to the south soon- I can't take the winters up north anymore and since I'm a garden and plant person I'm wondering where the best places are if I want to grow such things as flowering plants and citrus trees. I want to have beautiful plants and a vegetable garden all around me and don't know much about the soil and weather conditions in either state- except that the winters are milder than up north

  1. I live in Florida and, believe me, you will have no problem growing things. Weeding will be the most challenging thing. I have lots of plants and flowering trees and keep everything in pots. It makes weeding 100% easier. The soil is very fertile and weather conditions are ideal for avid gardeners and people who like to stay warm. You'll love it! Chances are, that if you have any questions about native plants and conditions your neighbors will be happy to answer them.
  2. Both states, especially the coastal areas, are virtually frost free so you can grow about anything you want. In addition to weeds being a nuisance, there is also an insect for every occasion, so have fun.
