Where is the best place to live (rent apartment) in Dublin City for a small family with young children?

I'm currently living in Asia. Plan to relocate my family back to fatherland - Ireland. So where's the best location (street) in Dublin City that's not tooo expensive, 2 bedrooms, accessible for public transport, and near school. Dubliners - need your best advice!!! Thanks.
