What is the best town for a late twenty-something couple to live in Long Island, NY?
We're looking for an affordable condo (not a house just yet) preferably on the north shore, not too far from the city. Any suggestions? Thanks!

- Live in Long Beach! Ahh, memories. I'm a british girl and when I was backpacking last year, I randomly met people and ended up in Long Beach, Long Island at a thing called Irishfest. It was gorgeous, fell in love with the place and a guy too!
- Long Beach is nice like the person above said. Don't live too far from it and it's got everything you need, nice beach, nice little town, Bus, Train, etc. Or Island Park which is just down the road from Long Beach but it's a lot smaller than Long Beach.
- Try Manorhaven. It's a small town between Port Washington and Sands Point. It's pretty affordable as the North Shore goes and you would get into the city on the Port Washington Line, which doesn't get stuck at Jamaica.
- I'd advise Port Washington and/or Great Neck which are both along the north shore, unlike Long Beach. Also, both are a relatively short train ride away from Penn Station on the LIRR.
