best place for a single young professional to live, good nightlife and shopping?

Im moving from Minneapolis to Dallas in July and was wondering where would be a good place to live? I want to be close or easily acessible to fun and entertainment. I want a reasonable price as I am going to be a teacher. I want someplace I can make friends/love interest possible : )

1. Congrats on moving to Dallas! Many young professionals move to Uptown (although it could be pricey.. but you could always get a roommate), Addison and Plano. You could try moving near the major universities, like SMU or UTD. I would try to stay within a 15-20 mile radius from the downtown.

3. I'd suggest moving to Fort Worth. We have a place here called "The Stockyards", that are full of bars and clubs, and all kinds of shopping. It's a great city, and there's less crime than in Dallas.
4. Uptown would be my first suggestion, but that may be too pricey on a teacher's salary. If so look in Addison which is just about as good for what you're looking for.
