best places to live

Where are the best places to live in the UK? Apart from London and Dorset?

I currently live in Bournemouth (south of England) and ive had enough! Fed up with the same coldness of people and snobby attitudes! So I am planning on leaving my job and moving somewhere else.. but where.. so I need some opinions of good places to live. I would love to move abroad but I don't know how etc.. any help

  1. liverpool is a very good city
  2. The `best place` is where you most enjoy being....and that can be anywhere. It`s usually where you are most familier with, and have family around and plenty of friends. I honestly don`t think you can generalize about places. But in general, small towns are often more friendly places to live than big cities. Villages can be nice, but you rarely see anyone!
  3. I would say Birmingham, closely followed by Liverpool. Both very cosmopolitan, cultured cities.
  4. I live in Oxfordshire...it's the same, the coldness and snobby people. We are looking in Wales. If you decided where to go just let me know.....Good luck.
  5. I have always said that if I was to ever move back to the U.K. I would move to Saint Albins... That old Roman town has enough charm to keep me happy and it's close enough to London so I can get down there in a reasonable time.
  6. I live in London and Surrey, did live in Cambridge and Windsor. London is my favourite but I also love it in Surrey. It's calm and beautiful. I love it there but it's not for everyone. People CAN be toffee nosed but in general, I think it's wonderful. Not very interesting for young people though, except you're some upper class breed and go to insider clubs. Cambridge was good to live.
  7. Move to Miami, The place is a melting pot of cultures. Ou can find people from pretty much any place in the world. The food, well pretty much any food you could possibly imagine, the music well you have from the hippest and most stuck up clubs to the lowest must run down pubs so no problem there, and when it comes to living you can live in a castle in the sky for half the price of New York to a condo in the middle of green pastures its all here. One thing you have to deal with us Latin’s and we tend to be noisy and love to party pretty much any day of the week. Miami has it all if you think it we have it. including fake mountains
  8. Cumbria , a different world . Give it a try you wont be disappointed.
  9. I'm not sure I would choose Liverpool and most definitely dont move to Blackpool or anywhere in the North West to be honest! High crime rate and rude people. West Yorkshire is very friendly but as another answerer has said Cumbria and the Lake District is beautiful and peaceful! Other than that I would look to move abroad, outside of Europe if you can would be your best bet. All the best to you x x x
