What are some US cities that have some strong, successful community theatres?

I am looking to move to a US city where I can build my resume by partaking in community theatre productions, maybe even becoming a drama teacher. What are some areas (other than the obvious crowded metropolis cities) that are heavy on the arts and that may provide opportunity for this sort of career path?
