best places to live

Why is it the USA is not the top 10 places to live in the world?

Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands rated at the top of the list, ( Places to live) ranking first, second and third, respectively. Outside Europe, New Zealand and Canada landed at Nos. 8 and 6, respectively. The United States did not crack the top 10. Switzerland placed seventh and Belgium placed tenth. The USA ranking in the world is low.

  1. Jealous Europeans or White American apologists.
  2. for one all those places have universal health care.
  3. Because we have silly geese living here that think that national health care is bad and people who can't afford bootstraps should pull themselves up by them.
  4. I wonder what the criteria are. There are lots of different types of places to live in this country. Different landscapes, cultures, political climates, etc.
  5. There's a number of reasons. It just really depends on what they based the survey on. Level of Violence, Xenophobia, Corruption, etc. And take in who took the survey as well. There's always some bias.
  6. I've been to Denmark, and far as socialism goes, if it has those ideals, I remember the kids there were very happy, but hey that's just one group of children. I played soccer with them for a couple of months. I really have no idea other than that at this point in time. As far as Canada goes, the people here where I live, aren't as patriotic, which is bearable. Not all of them anyways, there are some exceptions.
  7. Perhaps Denmark & Finland along with the Netherlands actually take care of their elders, those who have worked hard their entire lives.
  8. Why can't we keep out all the illegal Immigrants then/
  9. The US is not yet socialist enough for the leftists who make the list.
  10. Maybe the people that voted have never been to this wonderful country.
  11. haa let me recommend Palm Bay Florida as one of the best places on earth..dino
  12. Because America doesn't have free health care or any welfare to speak - your poor and sick people are left to die on the streets. Your public school systems have gone to crap. Also how many countries do you have soldiers stationed in and how many wars are you currently fighting.... You're the number one target for the terrorists. And don't even get me started with your hypocritical evangelicals.
  13. mhm. well, i dont know who wrote that, but id rather live here than any of those other places. especially canada.
  14. Denmark, Finland, and the Netherlands are drug havens! They're too damn stoned to care about anything. As for America not being in the top 10, no surprise to me.
  15. Denmark, The Netherlands, and Finland are quickly turning into third world islamic/African republics. I find it highly suspect that they're on this list.
  16. That would depend on your priorities, ect. But I agree with the poster about health care as a good point. I'm sure there are many places that are nice in the US, but look at the crime rates, poverty, ect, and it looks much less attractive. Unless I was much richer, I wouldn't even consider moving to the US, and you wouldn't believe all the 3rd world countries I have considered. Among developed countries, I would move to; Canada, Sweden,Norway,Finland,Netherlands, Uk,Scotland, Ireland, Greece, New Zealand, Belgium, and Taiwan ect. ( IF I had a good reason to do so...) In the end, I moved back to Japan, for one thing, I get cheap dental care here, unlike Australia and no doubt the US.
  17. That's great that these places are rated as the top ten and the US is not, but rated by who ? A homosexual might rate San Fransisco as one of the top ten places to live in the world, while at the same time I think it's a cesspool . What constitutes what makes a place " the best place" to live vary s from individual to individual and therefor can not be determined by one source. God bless.
  18. And yet we still can't keep people from sneaking in.
