My fiance and I want to take a road trip, we live in the Quad Cities...?

We live in the Moline/Rock Island area. We want to go on a road trip somewhere far, but not too far. We don't want to go to Chicago. We've been to Davenport, Milan, Geneseo, Coal Valley, Bettendorf. Any place on the outskirts of these places that are fun or exciting or at least romantic? Thanks!
