how to win microsoft points at 1 vs 100 in the x-box live?

I was playing 1 vs 100 on the X-box. I won 80 microsoft points then 80 again 160 microsoft points 80 again then 600 microsoft points so I left and went to the market place to spend them but when I got there it said I have 0 and would not let me buy stuff that cost microsoft points. Did i do something wrong like what happened?

1. I dont know. I won like 800, then 160 then 80 and a bunch more and i didnt get any points either! Neither did my friend.
