best places to live

What European city to do you like the best?

I'm going to Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Caen, Coventry, London. Which do you like the best?

  1. Well, I've been to Amsterdam any number of times, but I hate that town. When I do have to go there, I stay in The Haague and take the train over and back. I've LIVED in Bruxelles, Paris, Coventry (actually, Kenilworth) and London.. and have no desire to go back there. I lived in Marseilles, and loved the Riveria. However, I now have a condo in Valencia, Spain and think it's about the best place to live in Europe, for many reasons... most of them have to do with sailing.
  2. Amsterdam, much more fun
  3. Well I have been to all except Caen so I can't comment on that one. It's difficult to make a choice because they are essentially all great places and for different reasons. The only exception would be Coventry. Britian has some beautiful area's and some wonderful cities - but Coventry is not one of them. I lived in Wolverhampton (unfortunately) and so know Coventry well and it simply does not compare with the other cities in any way, shape or form. It is simply a urban city with little to set it apart from others in the same area. Brussels is nice, but I would prefer the other three given the choice. Amsterdam (yes I have lived there as well) & London for a fun & busy weekend, lots to do and see. Paris is a beautiful city, great sites, excellent food & wine. So it is hard to compare the three and I guess it would depend on why I am going. If with friends then definately London or Amsterdam. If with my husband then of course 'La Ville-Lumière' (Paris) Br
  4. Out of those, London and Paris, but I also like Florence, Berlin, and Geneva.
  5. Well I've only been to Paris and London of your list but I'd still say Paris. It's a wonderful wonderful city and there's always something to do.
