What is the best US city to be stationed while in the Army?

Ok, my husband and I have been discussing him re-enlisting into the Army because we believe it will be better for us in the long run. We were informed by his recruiter that since he is coming back to the military, he will be able to choose his base. My question is in your opinion(s), what and where are the best US cities to be stationed at with kids?

  1. FT Lewis is pretty Nice. Right outside tacoma and about 25 minutes south of seattle. there is a lot of wilderness stuff to do in the area like MT Rainer, Mt ST. Helens, Mt Hood is about 2 hours away, Vancouver CA, is about 3 hours away... Seattle is ok.. Very weird vibe though. But that said the SEA-TAC area ( seattle tacoma area/ also name of the airport) is the number 1 location shown on COPS ie Pierce county, lakewood Pullyup
  2. I have never been to Ft. Lewis, WA, but have always heard great things about it. Two other cities come to mind as well. San Antonio, TX (Ft. Sam Houston) and Colorado Springs, CO (Ft. Carson). It will probably be difficult to get Ft. Sam Houston unless he is in the Medical field. And Ft. Carson is a great place for families, but also has a high rate of deployment.
