  1. I was born and raised in AK. I've lived in Fairbanks, Kenai, Soldotna, K-beach, Homer, Seward, Juneau, Haines, Nenana, and a few other places. And it really depends on what life you are into. Kenai, Soldotna, K-beach area are all coming up in the world and are expanding, they are decent sized towns close to eachother. Juneau being the state capitol has more funding through it so the schools are very nice and updated. Only problem with Juneau is you can only get there by boat or plane. It's nice, housing is alil tight, most jobs are great payers, tourism is a big thing. But I'd have to say hands down, Seward. It is on the small side, but has tons of potential! I was raised there and plan on moving there once my hubby is out of the army so our kids can finally have school in one place. Roads in and out, small airport, cruise ships, ferry line stops there, the Alasak Train system stops there. Fishing is big, and so is tourism. They also have the marine life building there that was built like 7 years ago. Its a tight community, but very friendly! below are some intresting links. enjoy, hope that helps
