What are the best cities in the US to live on?

I am going to enter my junior year now, and I want to choose I college. I live in Puerto Rico. Since I was born and raised here I am really looking for a big city, I want to make my dreams happen. I am a writer and thats what I plan to be forevermore. What city is a good place for me?
