Where are the best and safest places to live in the Albuquerque area for under $650.00 a month?
Also, what are some of the better places to rent from? I hope to relocate there soon. Yes, I know about the crime. I grew up in Metro Detroit, so it is a matter of perspective. But I do not want to live crime is more ramped like for instances the SE or SW areas.

- The crime rate in Albuquerque really is not all that bad when compared to most large cities. I can't really give you a really good answer because I haven't looked at apartment rent rates in many years. However, in general the North East Heights would be one of the best areas. There are some good areas on the West Side in Paradise Hills, for example. Rio Rancho is probably not a bad area, either, though that is now a separate city. A lot depends on where you will be working. In general, if you want to avoid delays in commuting, you may want to live on the same side of the river that you'll be working on. If you can, it would be best to look around before you rent a place. People at your new job may be able to help you with some ideas, too. There are online apartment guides available. Again, since I live in a house and haven't apartment shopped in years I don't know which guides are best. Doing a web search, I find http:// www.apartmentguide.com and http://albuquerque.apartments.com are the top two that come out with searches. I know that there is a free Apartment Guide publication here, so that may be related to the web page. You definitely want to avoid living in the area along Central. You want to stay farther north than that.
