Whats the cost of living, weather, and best places to live, and job market in Florida?

I currently live in Maryland and it gets pretty cold in the winter. I desperately want to move and i was thinking about going to Florida, I perfer southern Florida. I really need a change. I lived here my whole life and need a warm place to move. I already graduated from college. whats it like there? cost of living; weather; things to do, etc. And I definitely need to know what the job market is like. Serious answers only please.

1. What profession are you in? I live in SW FL near Ft Myers. We live near the Gulf - beachy things are fun. There's also lots of shopping and concerts, sporting events, etc... The weather is hot, hot, and hot and rainy. We get tropical storms and once in a while a hurricane that may scare the pants off you. Lots of jobs in construction and they need teachers badly. The cost of living is a little pricey - apts for $650/mo or so, a house costs around 175K and up... Electric is high due to air conditioning. Its always pretty, however... Good luck!
