best places to live

which cities around pasadena,ca are best to raise children?

work might move us to pasadena, what cities are best to raise kids. We currently live in Pleasanton, Ca which is a med-sized city with a small town field and wide streets. There are sports parks and pools all over. But also we do not want to live somewhere that is very $$ and within a reasonable commute time to Pasadena...any thoughts??

Public Comments

  1. orange county
  2. East Compton. Or Compton. Can't go wrong there.
  3. North Orange County. Fullerton and Brea especially have good schools, parks and sports facilities. Diamond Bar and Walnut are also good areas to try. Best of luck to you.
  4. It is LA!! there is no where that is safe for kids!!! I suggest finding another job or not moving!!! You have to be crazy to live and raise your kids there!!!
  5. Pasadena is nice....but the houses in the hills are $$...alta dena if youve got lots a money. downtown pasadena is nice. pasadena is loaded with heritage, parks, and churches. ive got fam in pasadena nto far from the rose bowl and its a great family oriented neighborhood, with lots of nerby parks adn schools. Orange County is way too long of a commute. A nearby area with a breif commute would be glendale or eagle rock. Nice homes, but very well..heavily asian or armenian populated. (eagle rock - asians / glendale - armenians)
  6. Close to Pasadena and cheap do not usually go together, but here is a short list of places that might be good for you. All of these are still in the L.A. area, and because they are nice they are a bit pricey. Altadena (borders to the North) South Pasadena (borders to the South) Sierra Madre (5 miles East) La Crescenta (7 miles West) Montrose (7 miles West) Monrovia (7 miles East) Arcadia (7 miles East)
