best places to live

Best cities to live in New Mexico?

I come from Arizona and I'm looking for city cooler than Phoenix. Preferably a place with snow in the winter?

  1. Alberquerque or Santa Fe
  2. Aztec...Just out side of Farmington...less than an hour from Durango Colorado.
  3. I am from az too and i can tell you that it sucks. i lived in albuquerque for ten years. it is way cooler than az and the high rarely gets above 102. it has snowed a couple of times but it doesn't stick to the ground and is gone in a couple of hours. so there isn't really snow in the winter but the mountains get it so i always went skiing cuz i joined a ski team. good luck.
  4. Santa Fe is great and Taos is really interesting but a little small. Albuquerque is about as far south as I would go, and the old town district there isn't bad. The mountains around Taos are beautiful, and the Aspens at Angel Fire in the fall are some of the most spectacular autumn scenes you can see. I would go with Alburquerque myself because the University of New Mexico is there and there are a lot of young people as well as the shops, restaurants, hangouts etc. etc. you find in larger cities. They get snow up in the Sandia Mountains in the winter but not that much right in the town. The temperatures are much milder than what you will find in Phoenix. Also, you are not too far from Santa Fe and Taos even so. I would say about a three hour drive to Taos. Northern New Mexico is one of my favorite places.
