which city would be best to live in? Shasta Lake or redding Ca and why?

We are thinking of relocating to one of those two cities for retirement. We do not mind the heat. We hate the cold. We do not know much about either city so any information would help.

1. Shasta Lake is much prettier.That's just opinion though. Check out the cities' websites. They have forecasts, so you can get an idea of the weather, and some photos for scenery ideas. Good Luck in which ever choice you make!
